Another opportunity to help

Troop 265
Matthew Schultz’s Eagle Project

Quail Unlimited has asked us to help to clear overgrown vegetation, replace a fence, reset a gate and remove rubble in the form of an Eagle Project. The property we will be working on will be in Oakland, TN approximately 3 miles north of the intersection of Highway 64 and Highway 194. The Quail Unlimited is a non-profit organization that focuses on the management of upland game birds.

Work remaining: removal of rubble near shed.

Matthew's troop will be participating in two camping trips in June. He is working with his Scoutmaster to set a work date for the completion if his Eagle Project; so, please stay tune.

Personal note from Matthew: Thanks for your past help.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our significant project includes the upkeep and maintenance of our training grounds located next to Oakland, TN. The training grounds consist of 235 acres of land with a couple of ponds that the members are allowed to train on. A Johny house is available for harvest while the wild birds are just used for training and not shot. The chapter also tries new conservation theories on the land such as the release of pen raised quail and strip cultivating.

If you have the need for some expertise on conservation or some manpower needed for a quail conservation project please feel free to ask.
